About – Mehmedtahir

Mehmet Tahir Yıldız was born in 1979 in Adana, Turkey.
After completing his education there, he entered the professional world.
His relationship with art, however, began not with a career decision but through an inner calling in 2015.
He published his first piece on February 15, 2015.
Since then, art has become less a form of production, and more a space of purification for him.

In the art world, he uses the name “Mehmedtahir” —
a reflection of his introspective nature, his observing self, and his artistic sensibility.

Without any formal academic training in art, Mehmedtahir has always worked through intuition.
He started with scribbles and vector-based lines, and over time, developed his own techniques.
Whether on paper, canvas, or digital surface, he remains focused on preserving the soul of the line.

His central theme is the human being —
not just the outward form, but the internal conflicts, the shadowed memories, the quiet corners of the soul.
He often uses black, white, and red — colors that are both minimal and piercing.
Through deformation or the sensation of erasure, he breaks down and reconstructs the figure.

In his works, narrative and visual intertwine.
Each piece is as clear as a word, yet as ambiguous as a dream.
It does not seek to be understood at first glance —
it wishes to be observed, felt, and slowly unravelled.

For him, art is not a title, but a stance.
Not a sentence, but a pause between words.
He works less like an artist, more like a medium —
translating what is unseen, unheard, or unspoken.

Today, Mehmedtahir continues his artistic journey by avoiding edition printing,
presenting each of his works as a singular, unrepeatable creation.
